STREAMING THE AUDIO CLIPS

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you are not able to stream WMA clips, it is possible that your WMA player is not associated with the files that have asx. extensions. Associating means that the program, in this case WMA player, is not a default program for the respective asx. files. If you don't get WMA player opened on your system by clicking on PLAY, but you get a text file displayed in notepad aplication, that is an indication that the files with asx. extensions are not associated with your WMA player. In order to associate them, open WMA player: tools – options – file types and then choose asf files (which also include asx files). Then clik OK, close the WMA player, and try to stream the clips again.

If you get your WMA player opened on your system by clicking on PLAY, but the error is instantly reported and the player doesn't start to buffer the clip at all, it is possible that your firewall obstructs the streaming process. After shutting down the firewall, try to stream the clips again.

Of course, there are a number of reasons which could be responsible for a stream barrier; for all additional problems not solvable by the above-mentioned tips, feel free to e-mail us or consult directly Microsoft's windows media player error centre

*...asx. files are metafiles, meaning they collect information about another file, in this case about WMA clip

NOTE: STREAMING BY USING DIAL-UP

If you have dial-up connection (modem, ISDN) at your disposal, be aware that the buffering of a single clip in 128 kbps bit rate and in 1 MB  size will last approximately one minute, while the clips in the low bit rate regime (22 kbps) will be streamed almost in real-time instantly, regardless the size.
