INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION OHRID PEARLS 2005 – M. PAAR WINNER!

At the 4th edition of the International music competition Ohrid Pearls which took place in Ohrid, Macedonia from June 22 till June 27 Mihael Paar won the 2nd Prize. Since the 1st Prize has not been given, this makes him the winner of the clarinet competition. In the two rounds of the senior, professional category (age limit: 25), M.Paar performed Recitative and Impromptu by Dautremer (required composition), Sonata by Poulenc (choice from seven given sonatas), Weber's 2nd Concerto (choice from five given concertos) and The Blackbird Song by Müllenbach (contemporary work of free choice). About a hundred candidates, divided according to the age groups and instruments, took part in the competition which was organized by the Music and Ballet Pedagogues of the Republic of Macedonia and under the patronage of the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (emcy)
